St. John is home to some of the most pristine and picturesque beaches on the planet. Trunk Bay is the most well-known of St. John’s beaches. Its world renowned underwater snorkel trail, white sand, crystal clear waters and panoramic views make it very popular among tourists and locals alike. The island’s other spectacular beaches are not to be overlooked, however! Conveniently located in the south are Salt Pond Bay and Little Reef Bay, among others. Whether you want to snorkel, build a sand castle, get lost in a book, or simply soak up the sun’s rays, there is no better place than one of these magnificent beaches.
All beaches on St. John are open to the public. Beachfront property however, in many cases is private. Respect private property when accessing beaches.
Notes: It is illegal to collect shells from beaches in the Virgin Islands; shells are confiscated at airport customs.
